Saddleback Café is a licensed cafe upstairs from the Horseman’s centre saddlery shop in Ohariu Valley.

In summer, soak up the sun with a cold beer on the large deck that overlooks the start of the horse trekking trails and in winter, cosy up by the fire.  Whatever the weather, you’ll find Saddleback Café the perfect place to meet with family, friends or business associates in a truly relaxed and welcoming setting.

Food is simple, uncluttered but with a little city flair – after all, the Chef and the owner are both born and bred Wellingtonians.  The emphasis is on providing quality food that uses natural ingredients, tastes great and doesn’t cost the earth.  Locally produced free-range eggs and organic milk are always used. 

The range of counter food and the menu reflects the diverse lifestyles of the customers who come out to the countryside from the city, or the locals from the Valley and the regular equestrians who may spend the entire day in the outdoors with their horses.
